Choosing the Right Botanical

PART ONE

Pressed Orange Leaf
The first step is to look for plants that are sturdy and either just bloomed or ending their time. Freshness is the key to ensuring a long-lasting final result. If possible, make sure to find plants that are freshly fallen, or if using flowers, directly cut from a garden. When picking from a garden, the best time to cut flowers is in the morning after the dew has evaporated. If using flowers, ones with naturally flat faces are easiest to press, due to their natural fold.
